Istatusko (Imaging): Ma'am Glo

In the past four years, nearly a thousand Manobo tribespeople in Davao and Bukidnon provinces have fled their communities because of threats from paramilitary and soldiers. The displacement initially affected the schooling of children enrolled in community schools supported by religious and non-government groups. To address the needs of the children, the schools continued their program in the sanctuary of a Protestant church compound. They sought volunteer teachers, one of which is retired public school teacher, 71-year-old Gloria Arcenas. This is the story of her commitment to serve these indigenous children.
